Our founder Joe Coughlin identified these 7 points as representing some of the key character traits fundamental to a mature follower of the Lord Jesus.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_tour color=”blue” spacing=”3″ active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”Honor” tab_id=”1441873848705-137dadc4-4794″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”155″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border”][vc_column_text]

Honor

A man of honor is the man of integrity; he guards every word and action against falsehood. Ephesians 4:25

The challenge is to not just know the right stuff, but to apply it. Integrity of words and life are the foundation of our testimony, our witness. If people around us are to see Jesus in us, our word must be true.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Courage” tab_id=”1441873848772-340367cb-2989″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”159″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border”][vc_column_text]

Courage

A man of courage is one whose strength of mind enables him to overcome any fear of danger. Joshua 1:9

A man of courage is one who steps forward in faith to do what needs to be done. This may involve initiating action with the people around him, or responding to the challenge of a situation. Fear is all about what has not happened yet. We have not been given the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and a sound mind.

Chivalry

A man who is chivalrous shows respect for others. He is considerate and puts others before himself. Philippians 2:3-4

Chivalry extends to all people around us but especially to the relationship a man has towards the women in his life. The Bible places women in an honored position and demands that men treat them with special care and reverence. When a man seeks to use a woman for his own gain, especially in the area of sexuality, he is living contrary to God’s call on his life to put others interests before his own.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Purity” tab_id=”1463083344042-728c58bd-fe4e”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”158″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border”][vc_column_text]

Purity

A man who is pure is clean in heart, mind, speech, and body. Psalm 119:9-11

Our materialistic society is a breeding ground for idols and temptations. Every part of who we are needs to ring true to the Good News. A pure heart is possible but only when we place our trust in Jesus and receive His righteousness. When this happens we are then able to begin seeking to live consistently with the purity that God has already applied to us in Jesus.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Loyalty” tab_id=”1463083362470-d615bf3c-e95e”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”156″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border”][vc_column_text]

Loyalty

A man who is loyal is one who is true in affections and allegiance.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Life is not a series of quick fixes. It is largely the task of 3 steps forward, two steps back. It is the rushing game on the gridiron. Loyalty was modeled by Jesus who was loyal to His Father even unto death. We are called to live out this kind of loyalty first toward God and then toward other people.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Obedience” tab_id=”1463083370861-5848bb4a-1c90″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”157″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border”][vc_column_text]

Obedience

An obedient man is one who follows the commands of God’s Word and complies with the wishes of those in authority over him. Psalm 119:33

A man who knows how to obey will be better able to lead others. We need to hear God’s voice. We need to know it intimately. We need to let it sink deep into our soul so that His desires become ours. Obedience puts our faith into action.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Dedication” tab_id=”1463083369130-209d4b25-f92b”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”154″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_border”][vc_column_text]

Dedication

A dedicated man is one who has committed his whole self to the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 12:1-2

God created every part of us. Jesus saved every part of us. As both creator and savior He is entitled to have every part of who we are dedicated to honoring him. As a result we can be assured of the benefits of knowing Him: peace, hope, joy, and freedom![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tour][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
